Where to go

Other than heading into central London, there is plenty to do while you're in Enfield. Take a break from the bustling city atmosphere by visiting the stunning Myddelton House Gardens. The eight acres of green space are stunning and ideal for a spring or summer day. Of course, you can also head to Chickenshed Theatre to catch a show or the Whitewebbs Museum of Transport.

Nearby Enfield

Around 30 minutes away via the A1 is the beautiful Welwyn garden City in Hertfordshire. The perfect English location to make the most of gorgeous green spaces, you can explore Sherrardspark Woods or enjoy the view at Digswell Park. On top of this, it is home to the interesting New Maynard gallery and iconic Coronation Fountain.

Longer drives

If you want to head further afield, drive just over an hour up the M1 to Cambridge. The famous university town is incredibly beautiful and has a lot to offer. With ancient colleges scattered throughout the city and a river that you can explore by boat, you'll get to experience a sense of history while in Cambridge.

Eating and drinking

As with most boroughs in London, Enfield is a melting pot in terms of the different foods available. A lot of cultures come together to bring you delicious meals from India, China, Mexico and more. On top of this, you'll find plenty of locations to head to for some delicious pub grub, as well as fine restaurants.

Things to do

If you have little ones to entertain, why not head to Parkside Farm? As well as being picturesque, you can pick your own fruit and vegetables, giving them plenty of excuses to get their hands dirty. Alternatively, get active at Go Ape in Trent Park and enjoy tree-top adventures.

Sightseeing

There are a number of stately homes in the area but Forty Hall and Estate is incredibly beautiful and well worth a visit. Not only are there fantastic gardens to explore, the house itself has stunning period rooms, which often host events and exhibitions. You may be lucky enough to pay a visit when a concert or music festival is taking place.
