Where to go

The city of Florence is just 11 km away and you can drive into the centre in well under half an hour. Here, you’ll find the magnificent Piazzale Michelangelo square, which promises jawdropping panoramic views of Florence at sunset. You could also check out Piazza del Duomo, Piazza della Signoria and the breathtaking Uffizi Gallery.

Nearby Florence Airport

Driving for about an hour west towards the coast brings you to Pisa with its famous leaning tower. Meanwhile, an hour to the north of Florence Airport is the down-to-earth and distinctly medieval Bologna with its buzzing Mercato di Mezzo, as well as stunning museums, architecture, piazzas and churches.

Longer drives

After getting to Bologna, you take the E35 into Milan. It’s a three-and-a-half hour drive in total but a chance to visit one of the world’s fashion capitals should be seized.

Alternatively, you could head south out of Florence Airport and end up in Rome - Italy’s capital.

Eating and drinking

Italy is famed for its pizza and pasta and for good reason. Nobody does pizza like the Italians and you’d be hard-pressed to experience better pasta anywhere else.
