From Brindisi Airport you can head into Brindisi itself, a historical coastal town that is home to a number of important archaeological finds, as well as a picturesque sand dunes and beaches.

Around 20 km up the coast is Area Marina Protetta di Torre Guaceto, a coastal marine nature reserve that is home to a defence tower dating back to the 16th century. 50 km to the south is Lecce, another historic city that is popular with tourists.
