1. Look beyond the price
Comparing car hire brands is a great way to ensure you get the best deal, but that doesn’t just mean you should choose the cheapest option. It’s really important to look at what you're getting for your money. Holiday Autos allows you to sort by price, customer rating, fuel policy and more. You can compare everything from a convenient pick-up point to the price of any added extras like child seats. You should always look at the rating of the car hire brand.
We suggest booking with a car hire brand with a high customer rating such as “very good” or “excellent”. This will help you have a positive experience from start to finish.
2. Take note of the pick-up location
Some hire cars can be picked up from the airport terminals, while others require a shuttle to get to them. Make sure you are aware of this when booking and make a note of it.
3. Always remember to refuel
One of the most cost-efficient fuel policy options is “full to full”, where you receive the car with a full tank and you have to return it full. Simple. Always remember to refuel since not doing so will result in an added fee as the fuel will be charged to you at a higher rate than local at stations.

4. Forget me not - bring ID!
The named driver must have their driving license with them when picking up the car, as well as a credit card in their name. Bringing along your partner’s credit card or no credit card will result in you not getting to leave with your hire car and can lead to some delays in getting your holiday started.
Be prepared at the pick-up desk with all the required documentation - passport, driver’s licence, booking voucher, credit card in main driver’s name and if relevant the printed copy of your 3rd party excess insurance policy.
5. Always add your flight details
Unfortunately, flights sometimes get delayed and there’s nothing much we can do about it. Car hire brands will hold the car for you if they get notice of why you are delayed. Adding your flight number will help them to track your progress and ensure you have a car when you arrive.
