Babbacombe Model Village offers a great day out in the town centre, while Torre Abbey offers plenty of history, dating back to its construction in 1196. Kept in excellent condition, it is now a museum. The best beaches are Babbacombe, Oddicombe and Meadfoot, while the whole seafront is full of traditional amusements.
Nearby Torquay
Paignton Zoo is less than 20 minutes away from Torquay and has over 200 kinds of animal on display across its 80 acres. From giraffes and monkeys to elephants and crocodiles, the zoo is a great place for family visits. Other nearby attractions include the Berry Head National Nature Reserve, 40 minutes away.

Torquay offers a huge wealth of dining to enjoy, from traditional fish and chips to cuisine from all over the world. Babbacombe Downs is the highest clifftop promenade in England and Portland Bill is visible on a clear day. The clifftop railway provides a fun descent from here to the beach. Another great sightseeing activity is to take a guided tour through the parts of the town that feature in Agatha Christie's detective novels.
