Where to go

Harlow is a great place if you're into art, as it hosts some wonderful galleries, including The Gallery at Parndon Mill, St. John's ARC, Gatehouse Arts and The Gibberd Gallery. From traditional landscapes to challenging contemporary pieces, it's all here for your enjoyment.

The town also has a great shopping centre to enjoy, complete with a market that's open for four days a week.

Nearby Harlow

Harlow is ideally located if you want to go exploring Essex, Hertfordshire and other neighbouring counties in the south-east of the UK.

It's also a great location if you want to explore parts of London outside the central location. For instance, it takes a little over half an hour to head down the M11 to Stratford - site of the London Olympics in 2012.

Longer drives

It takes just over an hour for car hire drivers to get from Harlow to central London, which offers everything from historic buildings and world-class retail outlets to star-studded shows in the likes of the West End.

Alternatively, why not head east down the A120 to explore the historic Roman town of Colchester?

Eating and drinking

Harlow offers a wide variety of eating and drinking establishments, with all tastes and dietary requirements suitably catered for.

Things to do

The likes of the Harlow Playhouse and the Victoria Hall Theatre put on theatre and music shows all year round, so it's well worth looking at the events diaries to see what productions are on when you're in town.

Sightseeing

Harlow is located very close to Lee Valley Regional Park - a 1,000-acre long park that follows the course of the River Lea. Consisting of heritage sites, nature reserves, riverside trails and much more besides, there's plenty to explore here.
