Flying to Exeter Airport brings you within reach of some of England's most beautiful scenery along the Devon and Cornwall coasts. Exeter itself dates back to the Roman era, so there's hundreds of years of history to see - or you could just kick back at one of the region's pristine beaches.

If you want to hit the waves, Newquay - the UK's surf capital - is about an hour-and-a-half's drive to the west. As well as some stunning beaches, the town is a hub for fishing and whale watching trips. The beautiful spa town of Bath is also around two hours away along the M5.

Eating and drinking
