Palma has plenty of exciting and interesting places to go during your stay, with the city offering enough to fill every day of your trip. From the stunning and hard-to-miss cathedral set right at the centre of the city to the bustling markets where you'll find anything you can think of. Nearby Palma

Avoiding the crowds at the popular Parma beaches isn't too difficult when you've hired a car, as you can drive 25 minutes down the Ma-1 to Illetes. Here you'll find two gorgeous white sand beaches and stunning blue waters that are perfect for a relaxing day. You'll also find restaurants close to the beach so you won't need to venture far.

Longer drives

Having a hire car also means you can head to the northern side of the island in as little as an hour. This means that Port de Pollenca, which you reach via the Ma-13 - could be an ideal day trip. With stunning beaches, boat trip opportunities and restaurants with amazing views, it's definitely worth the drive.

For a fun family day out, you can head to Parma Aquarium to explore what's under the sea. There are thousands of species of marine life on show and plenty of interactive exhibits to keep everyone happy.

Alternatively, you can make your way to any one of the covered markets that Palma boasts, which are fantastic for souvenirs as well as food if you want to try your hand at Spanish cuisine.

Sightseeing

You'll find there are lots of historic sites to see while in Palma, including the beautiful Sa Llotja Cultural Centre and Art Gallery. Not only is the gothic-style building beautifully imposing, it also houses temporary exhibitions that are worth a look.

There is also Casal Solleric, which is a gorgeous 18th-century building complete with a courtyard that is beautiful on sunny days.
