Where to go

There is plenty to see in and around Nerja, including large areas of Andalucian countryside with numerous Pueblos Blancos (white villages) nestled amongst the mountains.

Just a short drive from Nerja is the famous Cueves de Nerja. These stunning underground caverns are adorned with stalagmites, stalactites and tall columns. The attraction is also home to the world’s widest column - the Sala del Cataclismo - measuring 32 metres high. As well as the caves, there is also a restaurant, museum and gift shop.

Longer drives

From Nerja it is a three-hour drive to the city of Seville - the capital and largest city of Andalusia. Seville is of great historic importance and its old town has three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Other attractions also include its harbor - which is perfect during a warm summer day.

Nerja has a fabulous bar culture, meaning there is always somewhere to grab a cold drink. In addition, it is worth trying some tapas to taste various flavours of the region. Many of the restaurants in Nerja have a strong emphasis on seafood – not surprisingly seeing the sea is close by.
