You can also enter the main market through the Roman ruins of the Piazza Stesicoro.

Do plan an itinerary in your hire car before you set off, as Catania simply offers so much to do. The baroque Piazza del Duomo features the Elephant Fountain that is the symbol of the city, while the Norman Cathedral of Duomo is just a short drive away.
