As the capital of the Brittany region, Rennes is a thriving and picturesque city known for its medieval half-timbered houses and historic buildings such as Rennes Cathedral and the Parlement de Bretagne. Visitors can also take in its many parks, museums and modern cultural attractions, with all sorts of events held throughout the year.

The ten-acre Parc du Thabor is also a must-see, as it's known to be one of the most beautiful public gardens in France.
