Where to pick up your car

Where to go
Larnaca is popular for its beaches, which are considered to be the most beautiful on the island of Cyprus.
If you're looking for something quite lively, then head to Mackenzie beach, which has buzzing bars lining the waterfront. If you're a keen scuba diver or are looking to enjoy some lessons, then this is also a perfect site for diving, with the MS Zenobia shipwreck just off shore.
To take in some of the area's historical culture, pay a visit to the ninth-century Church of St Lazarus, which contains the tomb of this saint who, legend says, rose from the dead.
Nearby Larnaca
Just 45 minutes east along the A3 is Ayia Napa, one of Cyprus' most lively areas. If you're looking to chill out then this probably isn't the place for you, but to enjoy some of the island's liveliest bars and beaches then this is the place to be.
Alternatively, 45 minutes east down the A1 is Limassol, one of the island's largest cities. Although the area is fairly contemporary, catering well for tourists, you can still see some of the city's protected ancient monuments, including Limassol Castle, the Amathus Ruins and the Mosque of Djami Kebir.
Longer drives

Head 15 minutes out of Larnaca to the village of Mazotos to the Camel Park, where you can feed and ride the camels and take a tour of the area.
You can also explore the historical culture of Larnaca by paying a visit to the Choirokoitia Neolithic Settlement, which has been named as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and dates back to 7000 BC. This site is considered to be one of the best-preserved historic sites of the eastern Mediterranean.

Larnaca is filled with stunning sights that you won't want to miss out on. Visit Larnaca Salt Lake, one of the island's most important wetlands. Made up of four smaller lakes, it is home to an array of plants, birds and wildlife.
There are a number of different walking trails in Larnaca, which take you along some of the city's most stunning routes. The Larnaca to Oroklini Beach Trail runs parallel to the sea along the eastern beaches of the city towards Oroklini and Pyla.
Another popular area to walk and explore is the Paticchio Park Trail, which is home to rare species of Cypriot plants and animals and leads to the historical open air amphitheatre.
