Hiring a car in Toronto

Known as one of Canada's most populated cities, Toronto is located in the Ontario province, alongside Lake Ontario’s northwestern shore and is only a short drive away from the American border.

The city is known for it’s beautiful skyline lined with skyscrapers, with the famous CN Tower standing at its forefront. It is an international centre of business, finance and art, with history in Toronto dating as far back 1787.

Not only does Toronto boast a mix of culture, heritage and contemporary architecture but it’s modern motorways and roads make the city extremely accessible and easy to navigate.

What you need to know

During winter months, temperatures will plummet into the minuses and snowfall will make driving your best form of transport. Similarly in the summer, temperatures in the high 20s will make journeys by foot uncomfortable and difficult.

Weather aside, unless you want to limit yourself to the immediate centre of Toronto, many tourist attractions and cultural spots are only accessible via the motorway, which can very quickly become expensive should you wish to travel by taxi.

We compare prices from 1,500 suppliers by working with many major car hire companies and alongside independent local suppliers, so that you can rest assured that Holiday Autos will find the best car hire deal for you. Our booking toolis straightforward and easy to use but to avoid any problems we offer free cancellation and amendment and we never charge transaction fees.

Where to pick up your car

There are many car rental outlets dotted throughout downtown Toronto, should you want to sort out car hire one you arrive in the city. However, to ensure you find the best deal, we recommend you book through us before your trip and we will have your car keys waiting for you as soon as you touch down at the airport.

There are many airports in Toronto, all with car hire services, but the two main ones Toronto Pearson International (YYZ) and Toronto Island (YTZ), will have car hire desks located through the arrivals hall.
