Where to go

You don't have to go far from the airport to see some of the amazing sights that Sydney has to offer. The wonderfully varied city is full of different cultures and is wonderfully vibrant, so you'll soon be having an incredible time. From the Sydney Opera House to Darling Harbour, you can explore some of the most recognisable attractions in the world without needing to drive for hours.

Around 20 minutes away from the airport via the M1 is The Rocks. This historic area of the city is a must-visit, offering great food, shopping opportunities and a fantastic atmosphere. You'll find a unique mix of shops, a gallery and museum, as well as great views of Harbour Bridge that make for an interesting day out.

Longer drives

If you want a break from the city delights of Sydney, drive for just over an hour on the M1 to Gosford. The town is situated in the Brisbane Water National Park and, as such, it has a wonderful array of beaches and lakes for you to visit. It has also become known for having great restaurants, making it a foodies' paradise.

For a more relaxing day, head to Bondi Icebergs, the most iconic ocean pool in Sydney. Here you can swim in saltwater in a safely enclosed place that still allows you to enjoy the warm natural waters of Bondi Beach.

You can't really head to Sydney without going to Sydney Opera House. Arguably one of the most recognisable structures in the world, the opera house's sail design is hard to miss. You can explore it from the outside or head in to see a show, which is an experience you won't forget.
