Alternatively, take a walk in John Boyd Thacher State Park, which features a number of rural hiking trails. For a more relaxing few hours, head to Empire State Plaza for some shopping or eating opportunities.
The New York State Capitol - the seat of the New York State government - is a great stop on an Albany sightseeing itinerary. If you’re interested in history, head to the Albany Institute of History & Art, the Ten Broek Mansion - which dates back to 1797, or the Schuyler Mansion, which now contains a museum of revolutionary history.
