While it will take you almost 8 hours to motor there, the nation’s breathtaking scenery is sure to keep you occupied along the way.

If you’re looking for a glitzy dining experience then book a table on Auckland’s waterfront. The Viaduct area of the waterfront boasts over 30 bars and restaurants. Meanwhile, people who are catching a show will find the Arts Precinct a charming and convenient area to dine.

Waiheke Island provides the perfect day out for wine lovers, with its host of vineyards, not to mention its hiking and zip lining opportunities. Rangitoto Island, meanwhile, offers a more active day with caves and volcanoes to explore, and the opportunity for kayaking.
