Where to go

Liverpool is a large, cosmopolitan city, and hiring a car will enable you to get around the attractions and make the most of your time there. The city is home to the Beatles and Liverpool FC, not to mention endless galleries, museums, restaurants and bars.

Nearby Liverpool Airport

Not only does Liverpool Airport allow for easy access to the huge north western city, but travellers can also drive to the huge city of Manchester, where Manchester United famously reside. Chester, Blackburn and Preston are three more destinations you can reach by car in under an hour.

Longer drives

Flying into Liverpool Airport gives you a relatively central base from which to explore the UK. Why not motor down to London for a day of capital city culture, enjoy a night out in Manchester’s vibrant bars, or head to the Lake District to hike amid surreal mountainous scenery?

Eating and drinking

For a hip dining and drinking experience, visit The Baltic Triangle, where you will find an eclectic mix of dining options with an industrial, urban vibe. Liverpool One - a large open-air city centre shopping mall - also offers a number of eateries. Picturesque Albert Dock is a favourite spot among diners too.

Things to do

Liverpool is undoubtedly a city of culture, and popular attractions include The Beatles Story, The Cavern Club, which celebrate the city’s music legacy. Anfield - the city’s 45,500 seat football stadium - is a must-see for sports fans, while the Tate Liverpool offers a dose of art.

Sightseeing

Liverpool Cathedral is a stunning building, with its huge gothic-style building and tower, and popular among tourists. Fans of the Beatles may also want to visit 251 Menlove Avenue, which was John Lennon’s childhood home. The Museum of Liverpool, meanwhile, tells the story of the city.
