Things to do
You can take a walk down Esplanade Boardwalk, a beautiful stretch of foreshore. From there, you can also take a dip in the Cairns Esplanade Swimming Lagoon. You should also make sure you visit the beach and try some of the watersports on offer.
The Atherton Tablelands is a wonderful wildlife area, with a lot to offer. You can see the gorgeous lakes, the Millaa Millaa falls and the Atherton Lookout. If golf is your preferred way of relaxing, you can play it there too. If you’d rather spend your time in the city, you should stop by St Monica’s Cathedral, a stunning modern cathedral.
