Roque Nublo

In the centre of the island stands the impressive natural volcanic rock formation, Roque Nublo. The drive up to the rural park is nice and easy, along gently winding roads, providing stunning views of the island.

Don’t worry about trying to take photos on the move, though, as there are plenty of pit stops along the way. Just a 15-minute walk from the car park is the peak of the park and home of the Roque Nublo.

Visit in the evening and watch the sunset from the top, where you can both enjoy panoramic views of the island. It may even be the perfect place to “pop the question”.

Feel yourself transported through time as you wander through the colourful narrow streets of the old town. Finish off your day in style with a meal in one of the capital’s many restaurants.

Garita Bufadero

Take a short drive down the coast from Las Palmas and you’ll find yourselves in awe of the natural beauty of Garita Bufadero. From the shore of the beach, you can see the impressive rock formation.

The natural wonder is formed by two large holes in the rocks that are filled with water at high tide. These holes are filled and emptied very quickly, creating water jets that result in a spectacular visual and sound show.

Be sure to avoid swimming in this area as it can be dangerous for even the most experienced swimmers.
