Brandenburg Gate

Originally built as a sign of peace, the Brandenburg Gate would later become one of the most important parts of the Berlin Wall, acting as the crossing point between East and West Germany. Even as the wall has been knocked down, the Gate still stands to this day, and anyone with a passing interest in history is advised to visit for a poignant look at what war brought to Germany in the 20th century.

Parliament building

Home to German politics since the 1800s, this Reichstag building is particularly important in a historical sense because of its position as the centre of the discussions that led to both world wars. Berlin Wall

The structure split Germany in half for more than 40 post-war years, and even though it has since been torn down, parts of the concrete structure still stand to this day, and the course is marked out by cobbled stones, serving as a permanent reminder of the evils war can bring to any city.
